What’s All That Digging?

🌧🚧 Excavation work for the Wedge Detention Basin Project has started. If you’ve driven over Cedar Hill recently, you may have seen all the machinery on the wedge of land across from Coconino High School. This is part of the Spruce Wash suite of projects for flood mitigation funded by Prop. 441 (approved in 2022).

The City of Flagstaff and Eagle Mountain Construction are constructing the Wedge Detention Basin to help manage excess stormwater runoff. The Basin will prevent flooding by holding water and slowly releasing it back into the city's stormwater system when safe.

You can see more about the projects at museumfloodprojects.com.
